Swap AE92 4agze into AE101.

Postby shazeal » Wed Jul 08, 2009 8:43 am

My AE92 just failed its warrant and the repairs are astronomical and involve panel beating which I am unable to do myself. So I am looking at getting an AE101 and swapping the AE92 GZE engine into it.
Is there much work involved or literally just swap the engine/harness/ECU over?
Current - 83 Levin AE85 Notch.
Ex - 89 Sprinter - Red Top, 88 Levin - 4agze.

Why not sell your AE92, get AE101 GTZ?
It would work out cheaper, and there is no need to muck around with engine swaps and certs.

Sorry I was a bit unclear, I would be looking at getting a GT-Z model AE101 minus the engine. So no need for cert. But your probably right, the more I think about it the more I realise how much work would be involved in the swap.
