ae82 steering rack in ae86

A guy on trademe is asking if an ae82 non-ps rack will fit an ae86.

I would assume not but didnt know for sure so thought to ask here

there may be a way to use the AE82 internals on an AE86 housing or something. silent bob i think it was put AE86 quaife internals into a KP starlet rack.

i dont recall how an AE82 rack mounts but instinct tells me its quite different, as the 86 rack is clamped to the cross member with bushings etc

kind of helps, the ae82 rack is mounted to the firewall iirc

probably could be used with modifications. but dout would bolt straight in. for example the mounting points on a fwd starlet rack (fire wall mount), aren't all that much different to kp60 or ae86 mounts. but wont "bolt in"

i think the only rack thats close to ae86 is the aw11, was reading about it on toymods.
