should not be. Melting point of ceramic is a lot higher than alloy.

Ok so I haven't got some new leads yet but have had a look at the motor and I'm not liking what I'm seeing.

There seems to be oil down the front of the motor uderneath the exhaust manifold so I'm thinking that the motor is $&#$%. Just wondering what else will be stuffed? I'm guessing that the head will be warped? Pistons/rods? And yea as my leads melted temp must of been 250'c+ as it states on the box that the materials are made to withstand temps of upto 250'c

If your unlucky Your head will be warped, if it's really bad you can write the motor off.

If you do take the head off and get it checked, check the block for flatness as well.

An update got some more new leads today thanks to mark. Put them on but no luck it still won't fire up. Checked spark on one of the plugs and nothing so I'm thinking that the distributor mite be cooked too? And also I took the radiator cap off and had a smell and it kinda smells like petrol and coolant???? (not 100% sure though)
