Hose from hell replacement (MR2)

Postby thornz » Wed Oct 21, 2009 12:12 pm

Before I go down to the mechanics to get a price to get this replaced, could someone who has had it replaced before give a ballpark figure on how much its gonna cost? I know the part itself is not that expensive, but am guessing labour is gonna be the killer.

The hose itself is about $13 trade from Toyota, Ive just done mine but the engines out of the car so cant help with labour cost, I'd imagine a workshop would probably charge 3-4 hours depending on how much stuff they take off to do it. I'd reccomend taking it somewhere thats done a few before (Maybe Toyota?) as you dont want to be paying someone t o learn by removing parts that dont need to come off such as the turbo. HERE
to see how it can be done.

Ive done that hose on 2 MR2's already.
Its definitely turbo off, which isn't a major really, they come off fairly easily.
The hose itself can be quite tricky to remove and fit the new one.
Taken me about 4-5 hours.

Great time to put a new turbo on too.
No "stance", no "hellaflush", none of that bullshit. Nothing but no grip on full boost.
