Clutch rebuild recomendations??

Postby trd-drifting » Sun Nov 01, 2009 5:40 pm

Just a quick question there is a company in Auckland i think that rebuilds pressure plates and make them stronger? i cant remember there name they do a lot of racing stuff does anyone know or who do you recommend as the clucth cover needs resurfacing.

Its an XTD pull clucth apprently heavier duty plate but i dont think it is anyways.

Cheers Josh

MP-Auto in wellington did a $&#$% fantastic job on mine for my RX7.

Autoclutch in Auckland got good recommendations by some people, but the guy told me to $&#$% off over the phone when I was just trying to get a quote out of them.

Autoclutch is excellent if you get them on a good day. I would recommend avoiding mondays.

Just thought id say i rang autoclutch monday morning first thing great bunch of guys to deal with guess it just how you talk to them and treat them. Really helpful, sent clutch etc.. away by lunchtime monday (from hamilton) and i have recieved it back today (thursday morning), they have done a great job and if they have done what they said they have done it should be a $&#$% load better than the heavy duty one i had before and they only charged me $500 From 2300pnd pressure to 4125pnd pressure and with a coefficent of friction of 0.67 which is prety good.

Fully cant complain great company to deal with, hope it works a treat for hampton downs on Tuesday.

Higher the clamping pressure, the more your thrust bearings are going to take a beating every time you push on the clutch pedal...

higher the clamping pressure, the more load your clutch will hold. id rather go through a thrust bearing every 6 months than a complete clutch due to slippage.
