ST165 aftermarket radiator

Postby Trls250s » Tue Dec 29, 2009 10:17 am

What aftermarket radiators are in use out there. I have a standard radiator with the plastic top & bottom tanks and have had the top tank replaced once for splitting and then once for the seal failing where it meets the core.
The cars has a gen 3 motor and running 1.2 bar round Hampton downs the water temperature got to 115c deg C. Ive got a 1.5 bar TRD cap so it didn't boil but I'm a little worried about the life of those plastic tanks.

Has anyone used 1 of the ASI Performance radiators like

I've waded my way thru the 31 pages of

where these guys did a group buy and actually organised to get the a ST165 radiator to China for measurement.
Mostly I get from the article that the cars ran hotter which doesn't seem ideal. [/url]

I used a st185 one in my corona of a simular style, it woked good, but a 165 one would have probably been a better fit.... didnt know they did them, may look into one for mine

I have an ASI one in my ST185, and it worked great (when the car went). Only thing was i had to rip the rubber bits out from the top mounts, and had to run an aftermarket fan as standard ones are too thick.
