Hilux push button start

Postby z|gen » Fri Feb 19, 2010 5:59 pm

Hey guys,
having some issues with the push button start on the hilux, we can get it going using the push button, and it runs, but when we give it gas, it dies, and after dying, the ballast resistor starts to smoke horribly...

any ideas/fixes/ auto sparkys in welly?

short in the coil?
sounds rather random and providing the push button for starting was wired correctly i dnt think it would be your problem in any way.
PM me for anything autoelectrical, Info or jobs etc....

What was wrong? It's always good to follow up a thread with the solution in case someone else has the same problem. :)

the problem was the guy wiring it up lol

once i took it all apart again and started from fresh, it seemed to go fine..

on my original ignition, i have 2 constant power feeds, only one is required..

pays to have a wiring diagram, test light, and a shit load of time lol

but shes all good now, just needs a hidden power switch to make it more secure.. dont trust my alarm..
