AE111 front engine mount

Postby eskimo » Wed Mar 31, 2010 8:02 pm

Hey,

Simple question and at the risk of sounding dumb.

Im replacing the front engine mount(cheers Mark for the new one) on my AE111 this weekend so my question is, can i just whip the naffed one out without having to support the engine with a engine crane?

Cheers

sure can, you may need a jack on the bottom of the engine to align the bolt for the new one tho.

The front and rear mount don't really support the engine in those, they just stop it rocking back and forth under accel/braking.

Cheers, thought that was the case but wasnt 100% sure. Where the best place to put the jack on the engine...off the gearbox close to the block?? obviously not the sump

Rear engine mount is an absolute bitch to get to.

Front one is a piece of piss, dont even need to jack up the car
