Blocking turbo water lines and turbo nipple

Postby gleem » Mon Apr 05, 2010 8:49 am

just changing my rb20det to rb25det and noticed 2 things. rb20s have water lines to the turbo and 25s dont. so how do i block them of properly or should i just remove them but then how do i block of the outputs?

Also 20s have a line going from the acuator to a nille on the compressor wheel and 25s dont. since im putting my 20 acuator on my 25 were should i put the nipple into? thinking i should drill a hole in the turbo out let elbow. Any both on the north shore have an allow welder that could do this 2 second weld? thanks

A little difficult to gauge what you are trying to do, but with the waterlines you have existing lines that are no longer necessary? I'd say easiest option would be to loop the water lines, as this is what it does normally but you'd just be doing it with the exclusion of the turbo. If there's any sections in rubber it'd be advisable to loop them there as cutting steel lines renders them useless, you might want them some day!

And for the actuators pressure sensing line, going from the compressor housing is said to be the best place to go from as it's the shortest distance. However I am using a rather long piece of vacuum hose for mine to the inlet manifold and I have suffered no adverse effects as a result.

I hope those are answers to the questions you were after :?

don't bother drilling into the comp housing. you'll have a junk turbo if you $&#$% up. Any boost source will do. Water lines: loop them round as TGB said.
