Glueing a tear in the dash.

Postby Quint » Fri Apr 16, 2010 12:43 pm

Got a small tear in the dash about an inch long. Isn't from sun cracking but from someone removing the radio and pulling it into the dash.

What glue works best to stop the tear from getting worse? eg. glue it back down.

I'd try superglue (a good brand one) and try 'stitch' it a bit at a time.

What he said. Loctite 480, as its a gel as opposed to the runny ones it wont all get soaked up by the padding in the dash.

IMO Superglue is too brittle and the join will eventually crack and fail. Try something like E6000 which remains flexible.
