emission line off fuel tank

Postby bluemaumau » Sun Jun 20, 2010 3:02 pm

so in the midst of putting my fuel lines in my car (ae101) and was wondering if i could remove some of the hard lines as they are in the way.

i know there are 5 lines running to the rear.

2 brakes
3 fuel

obviously one is return and one the feed, so i assume the other is emissions. i remember seeing it when the tank was out.

so whats the deal?

can i remove it and plug it at the tank? or does it need to breathe?

running external fuel pump and surge tank if it makes any difference

thanks

That line is the breather line which you need, a breather but not necessarily the line running the full length of your car, it will go to a charcoal canister on the passangers side of your engine bay. Its for emissions. I removed the factory breather line and canister and ran a small rubber line to the back bumper area where a put a breather.

I would also install a 1 way vent valve onto that as well.

I was going to post up a link from tradme, there was a guy selling them for quad bikes, it allowed the tank to breath but didn't let any fuel spill out it appears he isn't selling them anymore.
