Postby z|gen » Sat Jul 10, 2010 4:35 pm

hey, just put new speakers into the corolla under the dash, but now none of the guages work and none of the dash lights come up - headlights, indicator lights still work fine, just no engine, oil or battery light?

Check the fuses in the engine bay?

Have you accidentally unplugged anything? Checked cables coming from the cluster are all tight & secure?

On an ae92 I am pretty sure the check engine, oil, batt lights and the gauges share only a common power supply. It really does sound like a blowen fuse or a broken wire. You might need to start testing and proving that the fuses and circuits are working.

Dome fuse is in the fuse box under the bonnet, causes all sorts of wierd things not to work.

Are you actually checking the fuses with a multimeter? Have you tried exchanging a couple with the same value just to be sure?

If your fuses are sweet then the next thing will be finding a lose or broken connection somewhere.

...and just to be sure to be sure: have you checked the 'dome' labled fuse under the bonnet?

all sorted now,

couldnt find the fuse labelled 'DOME', but decided to retrace all my wiring and replace every fuse and relay i could find, not sure what fixed it exactly, but its working again, so going to book into a sparky tmrw to get it checked and make sure there isnt a short somewhere iv missed.

thanks for your help guys :)
