widening the track will help the roll center. But if you have lowered the car down at least 50mm+ you would need to widen it out ALOT.

how about raising the mounting points for the suspension arms? haven't got my car here to figure out it if could be possible but could avoid having to deal with the annoying ball joint issue?

perhaps an off-centre mount of some description?

To raise the mounting points is even more of a job! and I think you will hit the chassis. Even off center you need to move it alot.

can we watch while you work out how you are going to raise your engine east/west cross member to raise the arm mounting points, yet keep the actual engine mount at the same height?

Yes something along those lines, but there is no welding to the suspension arm like that picture. I have a bolt on piece with a Spherical bearing mounted inside. Damn Spherical bearings! so $$.

Also note how much of an angle that bottom mounting point is, that causes a problem! on fwd brakes and that rose joint will interfere with the disc. So mines being made on an angle so its vertical.

Minebea, from Japan.
Trade account at Auckland bearings they are $140+gst.

Thats the only bearing they can get which is Teflon lined and with a 3/4" or 20mm ID bore. With an outer casing thats not too big and able to get the correct angles.

I tried other bearing places but you can only get the normal metal to metal ones which wont do for a ball joint replacement, they would be fine for steering arms though.

Did you look through the Aurora catalogues?

http://www.aurorabearing.com/product-ca ... fault.html

They have PTFE lined sphericals and rod ends which are self lubricating etc etc in a huge range of sizes...

Have you tried Linear bearings? Pretty sure they do teflon lined ones, unsure on costs though.

Yep similar price as Auckland bearings. I think in general all teflon lined bearings are $$$$$$$$$$$, the teflon lined rod ends are even more $$$$

I think most people just use the normal ones and lube them up every now and again. Prob ok for race but not ideal to do driven on dirty roads etc.
