Camber bolts for Caldina GT-t

Postby Rona » Thu Jan 06, 2011 1:54 am

Hi Guys,

Just trying to sort out a niggling issue with my Caldina. The rims I have fitted are 17 x 8 +35 Offset see this thread for more details on the car viewtopic.php?t=82188. Setting the suspension up for max negative camber on the front the shop was able to dial in -2.1 Degrees on the left front but could only get -1.9 Degrees on the Right. As chance would have it that -0.2 degrees extra camber is enough for the wheel to tuck perfectly in the guards under compression. The right wheel on hard cornering/when loaded up scrubs on a plastic plugs which holds the inner guard in to the outer guard.

Does anyone know the part no. either Toyota or Aftermarket camber bolts to suit an ST215 GT-T. Tyre wear is not an issue ie I know running this much camber is not the best for tyre wear but I do maybe 50km a week daily driving the rest is hills runs & eventually track days. Local tyre shop has offered to take the car for a day and work it out but at the moment it is my daily so can't take it in so If I could buy the necessary parts it could be fitted up on a weekend.

Toyota Aus is no use they don't like imports.

Toyota camber bolts are just bolts with smaller waists allowing more movement. Better off getting proper ones from a wheel alignment specialist.

Cheers for the heads up. Soooo anyone had aftermarket ones fitted to correct alignment issues. I searched and a few threads came up suggesting them as a solution to peoples problem but no one seems to have posted after that to say what they used to solve the problem.

you could always just file the holes out in the strut to allow the extra .2 degrees.
Get some accurate washers made , then after your wheel alignment guy sets it how you want you tack /weld the washers on .
You are still using full size bolts AND the settings don't move , I have had camber bolts and they can move.

"Understeer" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"Oversteer" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"Horsepower" is how fast you hit the fence.
"Torque" is how far you take the fence with you.

The issue is I don't have the ability to take the car off the road atm as it is my daily, so looking at a more bolt in option rather then modding stuff, then getting washers made up etc. If I go down that path I'd be waiting to April this year when I have some leave from work to get things done. Not to mention I can't weld nor do I have access to one.
