Dim Headlight

Postby Garreth27 » Fri Feb 04, 2011 11:44 am

Got this annoying issue with my starlet. Since its now running I noticed one night that the passenger side headlight is really dim compared to the driver one. I tried changing the light bulb but still the same thing, its as if its not getting enough power. What should I look at that could be causing this.

Corroded contacts and or wire.

I had to rerun all head light wires (thicker gauge as well) to get headlight to be as bright as they supposed to be.

Also it is possible that there is wiring issue and both filaments (high and low beam) are on but in series.

Your talking about your EP71? Check the earths each side. Since you've had it painted there is a chance the earth contact to the shell isn't that great.

this might be a silly question, but have you checked the fuse located with the other fuses in the engine bay?

Got multimeter? Measure voltage at each pin on head light and post here.
