Hi Guys

The fielder got worse again, predictably so.

I finally figured out how to read the codes off it, and I am getting an error 41 - which according to http://www.troublecodes.net/Toyota/ means Throttle Position Sensor signal.

To confirm, I have jumpered pins 4 (cgnd) & 13 (tc) on the OBD2 connector under the dash, and read a 4 and a 1 .

I tried to clear the code by pulling the EFI fuse out for a couple of minutes, but when i re-tested wihtout startign the car, same code.

Am I right to think that pulling the fuse for several minutes should clear the code?

Are TPS faults common on the 2zz's?

Cheers

Removing the fuse won't clear a code, you need a diagnostic machine to do that.

VVTl-I on the 2zzge does not turn on till 50c iirc, also be careful using things like carb cleaner as they love to leave a residue on the platinum element and that's not a good thing. so use a proper MAF cleaner. as the last thing you want to do is damage the platinum wire.
