hilux 2lte ct20 watsegate actuator

Postby AE85.6 » Thu Feb 17, 2011 1:51 pm

Wanted to try swapping this as my one seems to blow a bit of oil out of the breather hole on the side. Im guessing the wastegate might be gunked up or sticky which could be stressing the actuator ?

Anyone got a spare one to pass along ?

Was keeping a rebuild and seals in mind for turbo in future which may help solve I guess.

if there is oil comming out of the hole on the bottom of the actuator,
its stuffed, oil shouldnt come out of there. in fact oil souldnt come out anywhere, as there souldnt be oil in there.

does the boost pipe come out the top of the actuator, or out the side across the bracket? we might have some at work.

If there is oil in the actuator its coming frm the intake system,

possibly the turbo depending on were the actuators vacuum line comes from

Phothag:
Cheers for that, seems to be coming out around the rod and running down it a bit but also seems to come out the little holes around it. I think this has the boost hose out the side as below pic.

Intake hoses seem a lil oily and my old surf was the same pretty sure it is common on 2lt / 2lte's. Looks more oily on the exhaust side and on wastegate / down pipe though so looks like its pushing some oil through turbo which was why I guessed turbo seals ??? you will see on Tuesday and can prob advise me better.
