gen 2 3sgte circuit opneing relay

Postby levinguy » Fri Feb 25, 2011 12:35 pm

hi,

trying to make a circuit opening relay for a gen 2 3sgte with standard ecu.
car was carbouratted beforehand so pretty much has nothing/wiring is a mess.

what do i need to do?

if i have 12 v on one side and the 'fc' pin from the ecu on the other, and the fuel pump and 12v on the other would this work?

cheers

Circuit opening relay has two coils; one to close it with STA signal and another to close it with FC signal.

Image

Please note STA (Pin 3) signal is starter signal and is basically +12V when cranking, while FC signal (Pin #4) is Ground when ECU wants for engine to run.

On the diagram pin #2 is +12V IGN supply, pin #1 is to Fuel pump (could be fuel pump relay)

Pin 6 is the ground for STA part of the circuit.

You could simulate this by using two relays (one for STA signal and another one for FC signal) with "open when Off" contact pairs in parallel.
