I'm not just wanking on about 1g hate, It's just that the jz engines are that much better, and you will thank me later.

Any reasons for not using a 1g-fe? lack of torque?
According to the owners manual the ute (86 Sr5 xtracab) weighs 1150kg and google says Is200=1360-1380kg, 119kw and 200nm will be a great improvement over the 66kw of slug 3Y and with the price of gas just going up and up economy is the name of the game
1GGTE/1GGZE is a popular conversion in aussie as 3y engine mounts bolt onto the 1G block, chassis mounts may have to be shifted but thats easy.
I love a 1GGZE for supercharged goodness but hard to find these days and so are parts as mentioned.
1G bellhousing to suit the w50 $100ish on trademe compared to $665 for a niteparts JZ bellhousing
