k50 diferances?

Postby 79rolla » Wed Mar 09, 2011 9:33 am

i am in the process of putting a 5 speed into my ke30. it is going in the place of a k40 and i have had 2 starlet k50's in it in the past with no issues but this time its a ke70 (rear shifter) box. however i have found some of the bellhousing bolt holes are in different places and the gearbox mount mounting points are completely different, more like a t50 mount setup.

are all k40's and k50's the same? i was lead to believe they were.
im confused as to why they are different. some of the bolt holes dont line up with anything.
im running a 4k witch i believe is from a ke70.

any ideas?

If its got different bellhousing bolt pattersn, then its probably an A series K50. Take a photo and post it up for confirmation.

Dude if you've had it rebuilt, you've probably got a gearbox you can hock for near on $500  People pay silly money for A series K50's.

Easiest solution I can see is to 7AGTE your car 8) gearbox should fit up sweet as. Might even last half a skid too if you go easy on it.

Selling the box will be a good 2nd option though
