Seat belt mounting

Postby Kiwi6539 » Fri Mar 11, 2011 3:20 pm

Hello Just want to see if anyone has has mounted a 3 point seat belt into ae82, And doubled up the the bottom retactor and belt on same bolt hole?

Ive just noticed my roll cage covers one of the orignal mounting holes. the one for retactor, so would like to know if anyone has mounted them on the one hole. To avoid having to get full lvvta cert for it?

Hope this makes some sense?

Cheers

do you have a full rollcage?

If you do and you want to have it road legal, you cannot run a 3 point lap belt, and you MUST run a minimum 4point harness with an authority card.

Hey

Yes it has full roll cage. I understood you had to have lap belt for warrant?. I was planning on having both as the car wil be road legal.

Ive spoken to a A grade scrutiner who i will see for authority card, and told him i was planning on getting it with just lap belt until i can afford harness. Which he said was fine.

Will speak to motorsport nz to find out what the rules are.

Still want to know if anyone has doubled up seat belt fittings on one mount.

Cheers

It is not fine. Schedule a is pretty clear in this area:

He is very wrong, as per Andrew's quoting. I too am "A" scrutineer

Hey guys

Thank you for the information. This clears it up for me.

Maybe I didn't explain what I was doing enough.

So now I need to get a harness. Any advice on what 5 point harness I should go for?

FIA standard

Not SFI spec.

Not Silvester brand (have seen two pairs of them crap out very very very quickly, plus the adjustors are a stone cold bitch)
