Silvertop waterpump

Postby AE82 FXGT » Fri Jun 03, 2011 12:01 am

Hey, quick Q,

Can a silver top 4age water pump be replaced with out removing the cambelt?
I'm doing a cambelt on one soon, and am just tossing up as to whether I should do the water pump while I'm there or if I can get away with not doing it.

Thanks

you have to take the cambelt off to change the waterpump on those, so if you plan on keeping it, you might as well do it when its off.

Yep do it at the same time
Also replace the short rubber hose that comes out the back of the pump while you are there.

Ive done it with the cambelt on. What a mission!

It is sooo much easyer without the belt in the way.

TRC toyota in Masterton, it pays having that online EPC, and for anything Mazda, I look it up myself as I work at the Mazda dealer here :)

Maybe I should be a parts person...

Thanks, much appreciated!
