Smallport 4AGTE

Postby iOnic » Sun Jun 05, 2011 7:47 pm

Ello :) Not very clued up on 4AGE's so asking the experts for some advice. I picked up a turbo setup very cheaply so thinking of slapping together a basic 4AGTE. Just wondering what bits people go for in terms of Fuel Pumps, Injectors, Spark Plugs etc What can the stock pistons + CR handle? Also details on oil lines?

The turbo is a little TD04 which will suit my needs perfectly I think. Gonna use a W2A intercooler of some description as I'd like to keep the car the same externally  Only really want a basic (~150kw) package. Any advice you have will be greatly appreciated :)

EDIT: Got lots of parts off a 3SGTE MR2 so if any of that is of any use it would be nice to use it (Fuel pump/Injectors especially)

compression will be fine. 98 and good tune. oil lines just the usual, weld return to sump and come off oil press sender for feed. plugs chuck some 7's in it

CXGPWR ran a hi comp small port (shaved head, TRD .8 gasket) with a turbo on it and it ran fine until we realised that the piston had been hitting the head from excessive head shaving.

It was 180kw on a conservative road tune using Link G4 storm ECU and about 10psi. Then he slapped redtop bigport pistons in it and it was fine - shortly followed by some form of catastrophic failure.

hes running a v3 link from memory?

just did an engine swap around on my trueno. was running bigport block +smallport head. so 9.4:1. on 12psi. now have the same smallport head, but with different block, running toda 11.5:1 pistons. same boost. the 11.5 engine absolutely kills the old one, response and power wise. in saying that will require better fuel to get more boost/power out of it. long as you don't run into detonation will be fine

pic of said engine in blog below

ps: tsoob, any news on those tyres yet!?
