Electrical Issues

Postby Makaveli » Sat Jun 25, 2011 10:35 am

While driving my car experiences occasionally (say once a week) the following:

For a second or two it seems like all the electrical system just dies: stereo goes off and the dash dims and also I get the ABS light coming on. After a few seconds everything goes back to normal.

I have checked the battery terminals and they seem to be ok. Could this issue be caused by a faulty alternator or something else? Obviously would need to take it to a sparky, but just wants the heads up.

Cheers

So the battery terminals are clean and tight fitting?

Not a Honda is it? They have that happen quite often.

My bet is on the ignition switch contacts.
ABS light coming on and going off is the giveaway as it usually means there has been a power interuption.

Battery terminals wont do it and neither will alternator.
