Looking for a st185 ecu pinout guide

Postby headshotnz » Thu Aug 04, 2011 2:54 pm

Heya, in the middle of installing a st215 3s-gte into a st185 with a link g4.

As there is no plug and play option and the loom we got was from an auto its abit of a c**t to wire up.

Any way looking for an original st185 ecu pinout wiring diagram to clear up a couple of wiring issues.

Cheers James

Iv already searched in Google, and did not find any thing, hence asking on here. Plus i'm sure i am more computer illiterate than you! Must everyone try be a keyboard hero?

Also the chances of some one having these wiring diagrams on toyspeed is highly likely.

But any way, thanks for your rewarding successful post. next time i will just PM you directly. :)

First result on the Google search that was helpfully suggested by someone you owe an apology. No need to be a smart ass. A little humility when seeking help goes a long way...

Cool story, jackass. I didn't have a good look but I'm pretty sure there were at least 3 good sources of the pinouts in the first page of the google results.

Maybe if you had said "I already have a number of pinouts but there's a few wires missing from them which are XX on connector X and YY on connector Z", then we may be able to help. I'm only being an ass to you because you seem to be doing your best to avoid people helping you.

Given the amount of wiring I've done on 3SGTEs, including wiring several conversions, I think I could almost certainly help you if you weren't so vague about what you want. First you want pinouts, then I give you a link to heaps and you say you already searched and didn't find anything, then someone posts an actual pinout and you say you've seen all these but there's some missing, but still you don't give any specifics as to which ones are causing you problems. Oh well, good luck.

Done that many 3SGTE wiring looms that I could just about tell you what you're looking for from memory.

Be specific and ask for what you're looking for. If people know what you want they're more likely to give it to you ;)

Don't be afraid to provide more info. For a start what car? ST185 Jap spec, ST185RC, ST185 export spec or ST185 Group A Rallye?? All wiring diagrams will be different.

Clarkson said you can't consider yourself a car enthusiast until you have owned an Alfa Romeo. I believe you can't consider yourself a Toyota enthusiast until you can stripped a loom down to bare wires and reassembled it. A lot of people here have done that, including those you are pissing off.

Insulting people isn't the best way to get help. There is a huge wealth of info available to you on this board.

Open up your ECU, it will tell you inside what pin is what.

my 165 and 185 ECU both did, which allowed me quickly adapt 185 ECU to 165 loom.

keep in mind there are 3 or 4 variation of ECU pinouts for 185.

Pretty sure the ST185's do as when I fitted a Linkplus a few years back to a GT4 I just used the pin labels inside the ECU and relocated the pins in the plug to make plug straight in.
