Injectors not clicking

Postby escortman » Sat Aug 20, 2011 1:01 pm

ok so found the problem with my supra not starting was that only 2 injectors were actaully opening, (pulse is fine etc) so took em out and blasted a bit of air through em. 4 work fine now but 2 dont even click but resistance is same as rest are they toast? who has some 2jzgte kicking around? cheers

I dont think blowing air through them would have done much, you are better to have them all ultrasonically cleaned and flow tested and while your at it fit new O rings and filters etc to the injectors.

+1 shouldn't even cost that much to do this, and flowtesting will show up any faults.

I am pretty sure that I have a set of 6,

and can do ultrasonic cleaning and testing too.

Can possibky do a deal trading your 6 + cash for my 6 good ones,
as I really only need a set of 4 for what I want, and should be abkle to make 4 good ones from your 6.

PM me if your keen to do a deal.

You're attempting to blow air through a closed pintle. You're not going to clean them that way. In fact you may have forced some of the crud past the filter and into the injector pintle.

Your injectors must be ultrasonic cleaned and flowed to ensure you don't run one (or more) cylinder lean. It'll save you an engine rebuild.

I'd take up Matt's deal. Whenever I've had my injectors cleaned and flowed I've had to take two sets in order to ensure I got one set back that flowed close enough to use.

Only do that (apply 12v) to high impedance injector, if you apply 12V to low impedance you will burn it out. Air is not going to do anything if you are normally forcing fuel on normal usage.
