Single click or multiple clicks? Is the starter motor new or second hand? Just to make sure, try tapping the end of the starter motor with a hammer. It's hard to say but maybe, just maybe the starter motor is poked. Multi clicks could signal a flat battery? Just an idea.

Check the starter by taking 12V straight from the battery positive
to the starter solenoid. If the starter cranks, then the problem is
in your wiring. And I'm reasonably sure that the starter signal to
the solenoid comes directly from the ignition key switch.

solved starter issue just working on spark. new coil, new resistor, new wiring. and then fuel pump. i'm thinking thant the alarm might not be helping.

I get a single click and lose all electrical power if trying to start it while it's immobilised. Just incase that is helpful.
