2TG restoration

Looking into spending some coin on the 2TG in the trueno and after some advice on what to do.

I'd like to get the head reconditioned. 292/11.7mm spec cams seem to be recommended. Port and polish, bigger valves. I am guessing that will mean bigger carbs Webber 40's or 45's, and I'm guessing that will mean a new intake manifold.

I'd also like to raise the compression if possible, but don't want to go as far touching the bottom end. THinner head gasket? Have read that the head should not be surfaced more than 1mm.

Would like to get 150-200rwhp.

Will put a lighter flywheel in as well. Already have extractors/full exhaust.

I would also rather send the head to someone that has worked on these. DOn't care if I have to send it to NZ/Japan/USA.

Budget, Id prefer to stay under $4k

Have a gander on the Yahoo auctions, I used to see HEAPS of NOS TRD bits for 2TG's (cams, bearings etc).
Also I dont know that you'll need new valves, if they're the same as 2TGE then they're massive things. 45DHLA's would be pretty sweet with more cc's, will bolt up fine to the existing manifold

For 292 degree cams you'll need over 12:1 - been told I have to do that to run 288's on a 20v

So would say you'd need to do pistons as well

group C corollas used to use 48mm webbers 4into 1 exhaust std inlet with a 50mm spacer to move the carbs further away with 25mm ram tubes
10.5 to 1 comp bigger valves on both sides and a cam with a bout 260 at 50 thou and about 440 thou lift std trd were about 304 but they were for rally
with this set up they made about 170 hp at 8000 rpm with nitrided crank corillo rods etc were not allowed to port head at any stage .have has all of the heads flowed from 220 222 and the best was 260 and all we did was clean up the ports
