i had good atomization success with the nozzles from pressure spray bottles (i bought 3 cheap ones from mitre10 for like $9 and threw out the bottles and haxed out the nozzles) this combined with a fuel pump that puts through about 30-40-psi

the only problem with a fuel pump is water corrodes it until it seizes, so something else that puts out a similar pressure made of plastic or aluminum or something would be the go.

Hence why I mentioned home made ones. People are talking about getting nozzles from bunnings etc. Might pay for you to read the whole thread as you are not quite on the same page.

I have already read the entire thread. There is nothing wrong with home made stuff as long as it is done properly. Some of the greatest cars on this forum are home made. My point is that IC water spray isn't banned from any track I've been to - home made or otherwise.

The only reason it would leave puddles is if there is something wrong with it in which case it needs fixing. I didn't have any problems with my cheap sub $20 system and it was more of a hack job than what is being suggested here.

for a tank and pump all you need to do is shoot down to pick a part and pick on any subaru/4wd type vehicle that has headlight squirters and raid the motor and tank for that, they put out good pressure and are a reliable pump, get some mistings nozzle from SOG or similar and away you go.

pretty sure you cant use i/c sprayers at meremere, i did read that somewhere, you do need to spray a mist, not ust spray water.

Well had some free time so popped down to the garden shed/mitre 10... looks like irrigation pipe and sprayers work quite well!
Just need to go on a pick a part mission to score a bottle and pump to run the sprayer.

Note, water everywhere is from playing with different angles and nozzle types.
Now it sprays directly onto the intercooler with no overspray.

Is that intercooler on-top of the engine?

Yeah.
Hence why I wanted to have some was to help cool it down.
Only going to be a light mist so should be no issue with water interfering with the plugs etc.

No bonnet scoop either, just ducting under the bonnet to feed the cooler too. So gets a little warm

Looks like a Subaru one so yes it will be.

What happens to a gtz when it rains? Effectively the same thing with rain coming in the bonnet scoop.
