Where to buy Press in Studs

Postby Allister S » Tue May 08, 2012 4:11 pm

Hey,

Anyone know where I can get press in studs (like, but NOT wheels studs) like the ones used in Strut tops/Camber tops and Lower arm ball joints. They have a flat round head and splines at the base of the stud before the thread starts.

I need some M12x1.25 about 35mm long

Thanks, Allister.

why not wheel studs? These guys have exactly what you want (except they are 41mm overall) but they ARE wheel studs?

in that size just pull some studs out of the rear hubs of a corolla of some description, they are 35mm long and m12x1.5. win. rear studs are 5mm shorter than fronts for some reason..

Thanks for all the tips guys!

Unfortunately no press studs from the Bolt shop.

Trailer studs looked promising but thread must be fully formed by 10mm under the head - doesn't look like that'll quite be the case.

Suzuki wheel studs might be be good. Does the thread start at less than 10mm under the head? Is the Knurl Diameter small like 12.85mm?

These are actually for Toyota Lower arm ball joints - I've pressed out a couple but was wanting new ones as the knurling is pretty wrecked. I've found part numbers for Toyota ones but only 10mm knurled studs!!

Thanks. Cheers, Al
