2001 Fielder drivers seatbelt frayed....

Postby cat007 » Thu Oct 11, 2012 4:50 pm

Hey

My brothers import Fielder just failed a wof on a frayed drivers seat belt.

Just wondering if anyone knows of any wreckers that would have such a thing?

The best Toyota can do is $300+gst - which is a hell of a lot cheaper than retail, but still rather pricey....

seatbelt pre tension type 7K

chassis number: ZZE123-0009974

Think about why most cars end up at wreckers
1988 KE70 Wagon - Slowly rusting
1990 NA6 MX-5 - because reasons
2018 Ranger - Because workcar
1997 FD3S RX-7 Type R - all brap, all the time
OMG so shiny!

Well, logically its due to being crashed (especially given the slim odds of engine failure) isn't it...9/10 of those will have a driver in them. Will be pretty slim pickings for one.
Stop being a tyrannosaurus and just buy a new one.

Just put brand new genuine belt, correct me if I am wrong, but don't they have explosive pretensioners (similar to airbag action)?

It only takes a phone call to T parts and toyotaz galore to find out!

Get a price from Mark (1i1), pretty much the cheapest you'll ever find one new.

most wreckers refuse to sell belts second hand due the aformentioned reasons. Even if the bags didnt go off the possibility of them being stretched is pretty high...
