If you lift up the intercooler id be surprised it didn't hit the bonnet with that much clearance. Just get a engineer to weld on the adaptor. It cost me $50 before I learnt how to tig.

Me either but check this out bro! http://www.turbocelica.nl/howto-blowoffvalve.htm

Yeah exactly, check out the gap between the intercooler and the turbo, won't be venting very well.
The GT4 is to Celicas what the GTR is to skylines.

I did it, works quite well :-)

Also side note. Original issue: Heat Soak.

I dont understand, is your car not a JDM? Isn't the JDM ecu closer to standard than the euro ecu?

This morning I put in the ECU back in (the one I took out of the car that made my car ping like crazy)

I found that this ECU I put back in allows my car to boost 7~9psi in all gears. Car is much quicker off the line!!! other ECU is normal. 1-2nd gear = 5psi and 3+ gear is full factory boost.

So I'm not sure. I will find the codes and look into it more.

makes sense, 100 octane mapping as opposed to 95.

I'm starting to get a similar issue to what you describe, but i would describe it in different way. I changed my fuel filter and it was blocked as $&#$% (18 years and 214,000kms old) now I think the blocked fuel filter has ruined my fuel pump so I'm going to chuck a walbro at it and go from there

THAT MAKES LOTS OF SENSE NOW :)

OK yes good idea, I do need to get into my fuel tank and have a look and maybe replace mine too. Let me know how you get on man

i dont boost my car until its at operating temp so im not sure, but im running 11psi all day long (though my standard is 14, mapped to 18 )

anyways on light throttle i can rev to 7, but punching it past 4500 it gags like a fuel cut,

the first symptom was the car felt down on power even though the turbo was running at its regular force, then it gave intermittent hesitation around the 4000 mark, and now its fully like a fuel cut

changed the fuel filter, was black as shit and blocked, now its more peppy in the low revs but still fuel cuts around that 4-,4500 mark so now I'm just going on a hunch that my fuel pump is rooted, I figure I'm going to need a walbro in the future so may aswell get it in now.

another thing i noticed is im getting a feint whining sound from under the car on a cold start, but goes away when warm

AND on another note, I haven't yet reset my ecu and test driven, so perhaps my ecu has remembered the leaning out and has retarded ignition in that area (even though there was no fault codes stored)
---- relating to your setup, perhaps your ecu just needed a reset after you fixed some other things, and obviously by unplugging the entire unit did just that

ok installed walbro, factory pump was rooted. fixed up the upper revs, but now my lower revs are kack and shit, I think its getting too much fuel now, or maybe my ecu had stored a long term fuel/ign trim to make up for a $&#$% fuel pump, now all of a sudden its getting lots of gas and doesn't know what to do

gonna recheck my timing, raise my base timing back up to 10 and go from there

One thing before I continue reading bro as you might want to reset your ecu by pulling your 15amp EFI fuse out :)
