Well proven to be complete rubbish. Thing is if your engine wears out in 30000k how.do you prove it was the filter?
Go cut a few open, then see how many have gaps allowing non filtered oil tonpass through

Thats more to do with reputation/cost vs actual quality.

Agreed Mr Revhead, I definitely wont be fitting a fram. I have done enough reading, and seen enough pictures of the media to know where not to try and save a buck.

Are they cheaper? I've run Fram, Ryco, Repco (not sure what brand) and Toyota. Not sure what is on my rebuilt motor actually. But i'll likely splash out on a Toyota one when it's due.

indeed, one of my previous employers typically went for the cheapest possible too.
