Im opretty biased when it comes to goodyears .. I had gsd2's on my first group A and they were truely epic , then , when i got my St205 group A , first thing i did was put on a set of the GSD3's - but the chinese manufactured ones . They were absolutely horrible tyres ..

Im now running a bridgestone re101 as a street tyre and sconsidering the re888 when i get back into track stuff ..

Are the GSD3's any better than what they were 4 years ago ? have they revised anything ?

The RE002's are better again from the 001's.

re: Nittos, ran them fo the first time the other week. On the street they were fine. On the track they were grouse. From cold plenty of grip. On the edge of grip they were predictable - even when throwing it into a corner and making the the car to slide on corner entry in FWD and they didn't just let go completely.

Apparently with the Nittos, the more used they get the more grip you have, as i was trying to by some used ones from the Super Six guys, but they wouldn't sell them for that reason.

The ones to get are the eagle asymetric 2's

http://asymmetric2.goodyear-micro.co.nz/index.html

They were just reviewed quite well in the latest MOTOR magazine issue. Top tire was a pirelli and the RE002 also did well as did the Toyo T1 sport

I think $ for $ RE002's are probably one of the best performance tires from a value perspective.

I've read a lot of people compaining about the GSD3's manufactured in China. Especially when they replace a german made one for an identical spec tyre made in China.

I think there are four countries they are produced in, I'm running a set of GSD3 Asymetrics made in Germany and they are awesome!

anything is better than the achilles , they are made for a cheap entry motorsport tyre , mainly aimed at the drifting market , not a good tyre at all if you have ridden on a quality semi slick before like the bridgestone or dunlop :)

I rate the NT01, put them on stevo and had a blast out at hampton downs...

We would happily do a club discount on these for any toyspeeders.
