What Gearbox Oil with C52 TRD LSD?

Postby 85AW20v » Thu Jul 11, 2013 9:48 pm

What are the recommendations? Gearbox is getting a wee bit notchy coming back into second - no graunching or crunching. Don't want to rebuild the C52 as I'd be better to go to a C56 so just want to prolong the life of the 52 a bit longer.

I've looked at the Redline site but it doesn't say if the MT90 is suitable for a plate LSD.

Unless someone has a C56 that they're willing to part with for a budget racer.... although I'd still need the right oil.
See ya

I have used MTL in my then C52 box with TRD lsd and it worked fine, now I use one of the shockproof ones , grade escapes me but it is the blue one (lightweight?) , I know of 3 other cars also using this with TRD lsd with no problems that I know of.
The only downside is that you need just over 2 and a bit bottles so it's close to $100 but the lsd / box have survived me running 230Kw atw for a few years racing now so I happily recommend the blue shockproof.

"Understeer" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"Oversteer" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"Horsepower" is how fast you hit the fence.
"Torque" is how far you take the fence with you.
