Im not sure about when the Aristo changed from S1 to S2, but if its anything like the Supra, the changeover didnt coincide with when they switched to VVTI.
JZA80 changed to the S2 chassis in the middle of 1996, but didnt change to vvti until the middle of 1997.

correct, the 147 didnt go vvti, the 161 did, so not sure?
