IAC = the little hot coolant controlled thingy on the TB?
It's only a semi-controlled air bypass and it doesn't lean it out, so it has nothing to do with a smooth idle, only its RPM when cold.
Move the distib. for its highest & smoothest, then retard it a bit to be safe & bring the RPM down 50-100.

The little air valve that's activated by the stock ECU - has a stepper motor inside to help control idle speed and stability

But anyway - I'll source a puller and make sure the key way isn't buggered - and try and find another crank pulley and go from there.

how to tune your 4k?
set the base where it should be, then tune via ecu software would be better
