Carib 1998 BZt Tein S tech and spring Help!

Postby elvisminerva » Mon Mar 24, 2014 12:42 pm

Hi,
I have a BZ carib that ive been running King Spring super lows in and they're too low and soft at the back for me! Bottom out with passengers easily..
I recently got a set of tein s techs and installed only the rear springs so far and its much better; still looks good but with out the bottoming out -kept the kings in the front for the time being as they're reasonably matched in height to the back.. BUT I want to have the full set of Teins in and get rid of the king springs. I have just realized i have the Levin model spring set CM-SKT94-S1B00 which only drops the front -36mm where as the Carib set Drops it -47mm and has a different spring rates

My question: Has anyone any experience with this?? will CM-SKT24-S1B00 or the CM-SKT24-M1B00 make that much difference on the carib compared to the Levin model CM-SKT94-S1B00, I want little if any gap at the front similar how my kings have it now or less..
Pictures would be super helpful

Tein are fantastic in they test all their products. If they only drop a certain amount then that is because there is issues going lower.
You should have gotten the wagon specific spring set. I have it in my 111 wagon and they are awesome. Dropped it quite a bit but still retains travel in the rear for loads.

Re the springs you have, Caribs and Levin's are not the same height factory, so that is probably the main difference. Also Levin's are lighter. So those springs will work but are not the best match

Thanks. Yeah I should have known that these werent the correctly specced ones..

So the levin jobbies will make my Carib sit lower then what it says it would do for a Levin but wont be well specced well for the wagon? Im hesitating going thru the trouble of putting them in and then theyre not what I want..

You wouldnt happen to have a picture of your wagon on correctly specced teins?
Also are you running the soft or medium set?

I have no idea where they will sit sorry. They should work OK. It won't be a case of not working at all, it might just be lower in the front, or it might not!
I think i do somewhere, can get one in a few days. In laws are using it at the moment.

If you're happy with Kings... i'm sure the Levin Teins will be just fine. I wouldn't have thought the weight difference up front would be all that different between the models.

Mr Revhead will know more about this specific case though.
