Rebuilding rear calipers

Postby magweal » Tue Oct 14, 2014 12:17 pm

Hey guys, I'm about to rebuild the rear calipers on my 101 and it looks like i'm going to need a speicalized tool (09756 - 00010) does anyone out there have this that I can borrow or is there a way around doing it without the tool.
Its the adjusting bolt guide nut.

Hey I had a go at rebuilding the rear calipers on my Ae86 and managed to do it without the tool but it was a bastard. From memory there was a circlip that had to be put in at the bottom of the cylinder to hold the adjustment nut in while keeping spring tension. it tool 11 fingers, a combination of clamps and tube sockets and about 50 goes before I got it. I worked out a bit of a technique on the second caliper and I only lost my shit a couple of times.....
If you cant find the tool have a go at it yourself but be prepared to have to come up with your own tool and a bit of patience to make it work, good luck.
