Hi all
I've just recently purchased a AE92 hatchback with a silvertop conversion. Unfortunately it has a couple of issues and the first on my to do list is sort out its high idle. It currently sits at around 1500rpm and I'm hoping someone here can shed some light on this.
So far I have done the following...
1 - Checked continuity of plug to ISCV and plug to ECU - everything fine
2 - Checked ISCV operation via direct connection to a power source - this caused the vehicle to either stall out or rev even higher depending on which pin was hooked up, I assume this means that it's working?
3 - Checked centre socket on the ISCV plug for 12V - with the ignition on there is no 12V on the centre socket, it's my understanding that the middle socket should have 12V on it as the ECU switches this to ground via the other two wires to adjust the setting on the ISCV. I tried hooking the middle pin on the ISCV directly to a 12V source and then the other two pins back to their corresponding sockets on the ISCV plug, this didn't work.
4 - I tested all 3 sockets on the ISCV plug with the car running. Socket 1 (closest to the front of the car) had continuity to ground, pins 2 and 3 I got nothing.
This is starting to really confuse me, what am I missing here? Any advice is much appreciated.
