Changing clockspring to add Cruise control.

Postby andrewgreen1000 » Fri Jan 04, 2019 3:49 pm

I'm looking at changing the clockspring in my partners 2012 Aqua (Prius C) so I can add cruise control.

As all aquas and C's have CC in the ECU + brake sensor etc to cut it off. I just need to add the stalk to the wheel and run a single wire from steering column connector to ecu, and a ground.

My problem is that I have the leather wheel, without media controls. And of course the clock spring in the non-media control steering wheels doesn't have the plug for the stalk.

It only has a plug for airbag, and a plug for the horn. All the other videos on the net I've seen have another plug for the cc to go into.

Anyway is there anything more to changing the clockspring with one that has the other plug apart from making sure the steering is centered on both the spring and car? Apart from the usual airbag removal safety precautions removing battery etc.

Cheers
