AE111 stabiliser bar

Postby alastabesta » Sat Oct 29, 2005 10:19 pm

Just want to know if they exist or not... I have seen the front upper ones (in engine bay) but apart from that I have not seen any other 3 at all... anyone know where I can get one from? and I don't want custom made... looking at upgrading my suspension but having difficulties locating the front lower, rear upper and rear lower stabiliser bars for my AE111 20V

any help would be appreciated.

ps. I tried searching for stabiliser/stabiliser bars/stabilizer bars but can't find anything

Whiteline sway bar~ I am sure Cusco have something for the AE111 too.

And let me have a ride in your car before and after you have fitted it please mate, I want to feel the differences :D

yep no worries, how about a ride before anything's in, and a ride after shocks/springs/sway bars/intake is done? :D

cheers for the info~

TRD do stabilisers for AE111. We've just imported 2 sets for SI customers.

I doubt anybody would do a rear turret brace for this model.

actually...after reading the levin/trueno magazine volume 71
TRD does do stabilizer for ae101 and ae111
front ones are 25000 and rear ones are 21000... do they still do that or is it discontinued?

and the TRD tower bar is 24000, compared tocusco's one which is only 15000 :?

(prices are all in yen)

anyone heard of a company called "DRAGON MOTOR ENGINEERING"? they do tower bar (front upper and rear upper) for ae86/92/101/111 models... price is 12000(F) and 15000(R)
would anyone be able to get some in? if so at what price...?

Yes it is still available - read my earlier post.

...and the C-One tower bar is 18000 and the TOM'S one is 26000.

They're all different designs, they're all different materials. Consequently, they're all different prices.

There's some nice looking gear in those glossy Jap magazines but you need to exercise a little caution. A lot of it is a cosmetic upgrade only, particularly in the suspension range.
You'll usually find that, across the brands, similar items sell for similar money and when you find a particularly cheap brand that's a reflection of it's quality, or lack of.

You can even get them made.

Stab/sway bars are usually around $150 each and the same for strut braces.

who does them tho...?
I don't want to spend mega bux on these (hence the reason I stayed away from TRD as they tend to be abit overpriced...)

TRD man> would you have any prices on the TRD sway bars? my budget is around $500 for all 4 so I duno if I can get any TRD stuffs with that sorta budget ($125 each)

alastabesta, I think your budget is simply too low for the items you want to buy.
It appears Cusco may make a rear turret brace but, given the proximity of the turrets in relation to the rear bulk head & parcel shelf, I'd question the benefit.

If you forget this item you may find some brands that will fit within your budget for the other 3.

With TRD, the 2 sway bars would account for more than your $500.

alastabesta, TRD is no more $$$ than most other quality Japanese brands.
Your expectation of buying these items for $500 is unrealistic and would only be achievable with lower quality products.

any rough figure as to how much I *should* be expecting for TRD stuffs then...? :)

also, initially I wasn't looking at brand new stuffs(due to low budget), but was just wondering if any company makes them as I can't find any information on it...

Have you tried ringing around?

What diameter front and rear sway bars do you need?
