1UZFE into a '95 Hiace Supercustom

Postby lidz » Tue Feb 07, 2006 6:07 pm

hi just wondering if you guys would have any advice as to how to do this conversion or who would want to do it?? i have looked at the engine bay and there seems to be plenty of room to fit it an the Gearbox in the van is the same as a manual Hilux of the same vintage, so a 1UZFE bellhousing conversion for a hilux will work, Are there any workshops in the Upper North island(i.e Auckland) that regulary do 1UZFE conversions into hiluxs???

They are a avaiabile from factory with the 1UZ in them so it should be pretty straight forward. If you get hold of someone who works at a toyota dealer with half a brain they should be able to source you all the factory mounts etc to make the conversion easier with needing a chassis number. Or you could just buy one from Japan as I haven't seen to many for sale over hear for some reason :D
These guys here might be able to shed some more light on the subject

according to the ryco and valvoline catalogues they were available with a 1uzfe.

Jono at performance metalworks has done a couple of 1uzfe powered vans.
ive looked into it in the past and thought to myself fu*k that

Boosted performance im sure have done it a number of times, inlcuding into the import x ae85.

A friend of mine pointed it out to me in the Ryco catalogue.
Would have been cool if it was for real.

Yep there are a few hiace 1uzfe in New Zealand, they are ex japanese ambulances, Joe Mc andrew has one as a service vehicle and I think the Kibble team had one as well. Big ugly fibre glass roof on them, but that can be changed.

There's a front cut off an ambulance at one of our suppliers. Just go get that one and you have everything perfect to go in.

If you want me to some model codes 'n' chassis numbers for you Mr Revhead I'll ask.
