haha yeah imagine the piping, cause a fair bit of lag :lol:

ive seen an mr2 with an intercooler mounted in the boot too, quite crazy

yeh but the ones under the car are a bit odd too because if they go over a bump 2 quickly or something lol it would squash da intercooler hard... where do the intercoolers usually go on the SW20?... i dun really know much about em

Pretty sure stock ICs are behind the drivers side air vent. Na dont know much about em either, theyve got this funny 3S engine in them or something

What about a W>A ic of a GT4 RC- it will bolt straight on and is designed for this motor!!!

I checked out the rx7 intercooler, looks like there will be a lota work plumbing wise to put on the mr2

dunno if it will be all worth it

I might do you boys a favour and go to race radiators and see how much for a bar n plate Spearco copy with shroud and 7" fan will be

An ST185 RC W/A IC wont bolt onto a 3rd gen 3SGTE but I would've thought it would bolt straight on to a 2nd gen 3SGTE ?

some of the mount points r not there, easy to solve wont cost much, the throttle body is a little deeper on the mr2 from memory, i dont know if there is anythign in the way of the plumbing comeing out of the Ic cant rememebr.

the st205 IC has the same problems (the ST 185 is the smaller 1 W/A ic right ?)

but it can be made to work, its a tad expensive for a ST205 IC, a davies craig water pump, front mount radiator and plumbing. it cost me 750 for a brand new ST205 W/A ic many years ago (told me it was group A and that it had stronger seams i never saw the difference)down from a retails price of 2500 or something

Yeah the ST185 water-air is a tad smaller than the st205 and the outlet which connects to the throttle body is also smaller but if anyones thinking about putting an St185 RC water-air radiator on their sw20 and want to see if it fits then I've got one on my ST185 they can try if they want.

I helped a mate to put a 1JZ chaser intercooler into his SW20. Not a direct swap, but the piping was quite easily made and it's 4" thick with about the same frontal area, never recorded and pressure drop or dyno figures from it though, but I imagine it would out flow an rx7 one. Biggest problem is the plastic end tanks, haven't heard much about the reliability of them but I imagine they aren't as strong as aluminium ones
