They $&#$% the shocks and completely destroyed the bump stops because the spring rate is calculated on the corollas weight not the 1470 kg the caldina weighs in at. so stocks gave full refund and have not manufactured springs specific for the caldina..

maybe thats why mines bumpy as bajebus and my rear shocks are fux0red!

someone make me some suggestions/price quotes :) (without breaking the bank!)

Im amazed you lot are saying it handles poorly, my car has 225,40,R18 wheels on it, with 50mm drop springs made by RSR, you throw the car into a 90 degree bend no body roll wat so ever it just powers through the corner slipping the back out a little! i was so impressed

Purely from an outsiders point of view, the Caldinas seem to ride quite high standard...so a simple spring change would lower the C of G dramatically. "Low" Dobi springs were a great compromise when I bought some for the GSR as they didn't make the car scrape it's ass and the ride is more than comfortable.

The Nismo shock/spring setup in the Pulsar is a totally different story, it changes direction like a slot car and can be a little vicious at times

Dobi springs ($170 thanks trademe), 18" wheels ($2k thanks trademe), and the factory rear strut brace/parcel blind did the trick for me.

No longer handles like a boat and is nice and low., but not so low it bottoms out on stupid things.

if you think that the parcel tray sway bar or wotever to improve handling your an idiot it doesnt even bolt into the suspension its conected to plastic honelstly i thought this was a car forum take a look at the strut brace in the front oh look at that its bolted in with the suspension then u have a look at your parcel tray bs hmmmmm doesnt look like its bolted to the suspension but if you think it makes your car handle better go for it. i would like to see wot a suspension specialist would say about the parcel tray sway bar. Jamming my sub box between the stut towers will that make my car handle beter does it become a sub box/sway bar can i get one from toyota. i wonder when u type in the npart number for the parcel tray whether it comes up with parcel tray/sway bar some how i dont think so.
cheers

Another case of opening mouth before engaging brain, bolted to plastic, look again, not bolted to suspension, look again, or perhaps you should look for the first time, or hand your license in now as you're obviously blind.

FYI the mounts for the cargo blind are welded to the suspension tower and to the outer body shell. There is also a brace that connects to the outer shock mount. The blind itself has steel brackets that bolt through the plastic to a steel mount with a full length 20mm (approx) diameter bar with 1.5mm wall thickness.

Whether or not it has any effect it's a bit hard to tell, but given the sturdy nature of the housing and the obvious attempts by Toyota to tie it into the rear suspension, I'd guess it's intended as more than just a cargo blind, or else they would have made the whole thing out of plastic and saved weight and expense.

And you wonder why people pour crap on your every post, with poorly researched drivel such as this, it's bloody obvious

BTW got a pic of all the "boost control crap" you removed from your car, I'd be interested to see just what it is you did remove. Hopefully not something important, or something useful, like the cold start fuel pressure solenoid 8O

fivebobs right, theres also a hefty lever/catch arrangement that clamps it rather firmly in place.

You obviously haven't touched your rear suspension. Remove the plastic and there's a hefty bracket which allows the blind to clamp onto the top of the strut tower. The strut bolts through this bracket.

it still wander round at the back if ya towers are flexing
maybe even more so due to the stiffer suspension transferring more load to the towers
