2T, 2T-B, 3T, 3T-EU are pushrod motors.

I currently have a 2T-B in my Corolla with a 6300rpm redline, but I have a 2T-GEU soon to be dropped in, but I was thinking about using 3T parts to make it 1800cc.

sure will

but anyway, my mates 2tgeu with 3t internals has alot of torque

but even with bigger cams it still loses all power after 6000rpm, the 3t hybrid 2tgeu really has no power up top

still a stupidly fast car though, but it has a fair bit done to it
check it out here if your interested you 3t lovers http://toyspeed.blakjak.net/profiles/pr ... hp?id=1706

what was the torque figure, what gear?

www.garagedori.com/tech for 4age dyno graphs from 3rd and 4th gear

umm 4th gear 162nm at 3400rpm (at the wheels of course)

power was 84kw at 6000rpm

hmmm now that i think about it thats not that impressive, sure feels like it has alot of torque

ignore what i said about the torque and power figure being close, i'm losing it, didn't take my pills today

heh, my redtop made 86kw at wheels with almost 320Nm at torque dyno in 4th gear.
dunno rpm though.

i'm losing all faith i have in t series engines

its confusing cause i could swear my mates 3t hybrid is alot faster than my car... maybe not

dam good figures, 320nm is more than my old mans 3.2 turbo diesel boat towing truck hahahahaha

your engine has quads etc now right?

i'd be interested to see what it makes on the dyno now

quads make 5% more power at wheels on bluetop, i too would like to see.. just installing megasquirt-II now.

I would be very cautious about believing torque figures from most dyno's. I've seen them up to 700 or 800Nm on cars with under 200kW, so there's clearly something wrong. For instance 320Nm is nearly as much as an early 1UZ-FE, and no offence, but that doesn't seem very likely to me. Infact in a second I'm going to work out how much power 320Nm @ 4,000rpm is (what RPM was your 320Nm at?)

it's at the wheels, so you have diff to multiply it up.

we have a lot of dyno graphs, and the torque correlates well between the different stages of engine tune.

have a look through our dyno sheets.

anyways, torque is for babies... it's all in the hp.

ok so, given that

P = 2*pi*n*T

where P is power in Watts
n is revs/s
T is torque in Newton metres
and assuming peak torque was made around 4000 (which should be reasonably accurate)

P = 2*pi*(4000/60)*320
= 134kW

don't forget 4.3:1 diff in it too Bill.

I'll try scan that sheet up tomorrow.

I thought they took the ratios into account to give theoretical torque that the engine is producing(without accounting for drivetrain losses)? if not then you can't really compare torque from one car to another as ratios of gearbox and diff would have too much effect on it.
Certainly useful for comparing changes in the same car before/after modifications, but that's about it, IMHO

and if it's at the wheels then 320Nm @ wheels @ 4000rpm with a 4.3:1 diff would give you power of
134/4.3 = 31kW @ engine
:?:

that math no good...

dyno is dyno... 1/4 is 1/4...et is et.... lap time is lap time.

dispel all myths with slips ;)

hmm now i'm confused

the 3t hyrbid came up as 162nm

the 4age redtop was 320nm

i'm sure the 3t seemed to have more torque than the 4age when you drive it

the torque figures = confusing haha (has this been covered somewhere before?)

i was thinking the very same thing. the 4ag fitted in a mates starlet dosn't seem to have the same low down grunt as my 2T or the old 3T, and lap times being lap times says it hasn't either. bearing mind the starlet would be at least 100kg lighter than my TE71. i can't wait till the redtop is back together to see if i can shift my taste in engines, but being in a heavy FWD, it probably won't seem to exciting.
