If you want to beat a B16 in a straight line, then get a B16. You wont beat it with a 4age.

just depends how much money you want to spend on makeing it "faster"

im sure a formula atlantic spec engine will give a stock b18c a run for its money ;).

Ok... i'll clarify
You wont beat a b16 with a 4age without spending an obscene amount of money.
It would be cheaper to buy a b16 & gearbox, fit it to your trueno, get it all working and get the cert for it.

Wrong again

As Revhead said, stock and stock, they're bloody close. Modify both of them, and they will still be close. There may be more information and off-the shelf parts for the B16, as they're more popular for modifying, and have been around longer than the 20 valve 4AGE. A B16c will not "shit on" a blacktop/silvertop unless the 4AGE is buggered, and vice versa.

B18s are a different story.

Same driver b16a will always be faster if both motors are in good nick and stock... :?

You mean b16a right? (b16b is in the type r civs, b18c is from a teg...)

Your right it wont "shit" on it, but the motors make more power (stock) and would therefore be quicker in an ideal world.

Civics are lighter than tegs but not by a heap. Got weight specs for teg vs levin?

no idea on the weight of an integra
levins are around 1050ish.

iv driven several integras, and heaps of levins.
the levins are more often than not faster and handle heaps better.
theys feck all in it in a straight line.. but when you hit a corner... well the integras lost!

Sorry, typo, you're right.

And I agree with Revhead, its not just about the power of the vehicle, theres far more in it than that. I've got a couple of videos of a certain Corolla eating a lightly modified SIR Civic for dinner (video is taken from inside the Civic). The engine in the Corolla is an almost stock blacktop. Would love to host them for download if I wasn't worried about getting someone in trouble :)

The video's are really small, and I don't mind emailing one to you if you promise you're not going to put it up for download anywhere ;)

I was talking in a straight line. When you start going round corners then there are a lot of factors to consider, including driver skill.

Is the video straight line or round corners?

Minis can beat big V8s on small tight courses, but a stock mini wont beat a big V8 on the 1/4 mile.... understand the difference y'all? :P

In a straight line. All three of them. Rolling starts and standing.
