Yes three channel is quite common,
but it refers to the actuators rather than the sensors.
Three channel has four sensors, but only one solenoid that controls both rear wheels, hence three channels, Front right, front left, and rear.
Because all front wheel drive cars are spilt diaganal not front/rear,
you cannot have three channel abs on front drive vehicles.
