What pads to use in KE70 club car??

Have heard you don't want to run the Mintex 1166's to the end of their thickness, the last 3mm or so isn't actually pad material and won't stop you. Will see if the owner of the car that had the problem can elaborate, note this was a race car but a pretty light weight one.

Yep the above is pretty much correct, I had M1166 on my race car and have mixed review on them. They seemed to do the job, didn't last long (ie 6 race meetings) and the last 2-3mm is thermal backing. So actual good compund material is limited by the thickness of the pad you can fit in your caliper.

Once the Mintex were shot I thought I'd give another pad a try and went to some carbon metallics and in my personal opinion I rate the carbon metallics higher, maybe a contribuiting factor to my opinion was I got them for about 1/3rd the price of the Mintex pads.

agree. I run M1166, and they cope with the heat and they are ok for street driving if you dont mind the cold scratching noise.
