OK this may help or maynot.

I had just got my car sorted and left to got to newyears about halfway there my car started sounding like a tractor really loud, almost like the exhaust had fallen off or there was a blown exhaust gasket. I pulled over at the local gassy and checked it out i just guessed the wastegate was jammed open. I did another thousand kms before i got it checked out and what ended up happening was the compressor housing started falling off the exhaust housing as 2 of the four bolts had fallen out.

It also felt sluggish......... i think you should take it to an exhaust shop and see if they can tell you where the noise is comming from, get that sorted and see if the problem persists.

had a look in the morning an found out massive leak where the downpipe connects to the turbo and waste gate, also has bad leak were the oxy sensor sits....put my hand on the bottom of manifold an reved it no sign of leakin did the same with top of manifold......

cars fixed, got the downpipe grinded an its working now, it was due to the free flow of exhust which made the wastegate flap get stuk on the downpipe flange its all good now...fixed by MR MUFFLER in onehunga his the man he knows quite a bit about turbos an he did the whole 3inch mandrel system on my car with flexi for 350 doller..... :o

I'd be pissed if you got charged more! Mine was $300 with an adaptor flange made up + $50 for the flexi I bought elsewhere because Magoos told me they were $200+gst :roll:

pitstop coated me 1500 dollers an another branch coated me 650 dollers, ohh plus he grinded the downpipe welded the crack on the downpipe an made a bracket for the downpipe all for 350 dollers.... :)
